Experimenting with three dimensions

I want to bring my drawings into a three dimensional realm, and am thinking about various ways in which this can be done.

I began by simply covering an existing 3D form.

Workspace Wednesday

Yvette Hawkins, one of the artists that I met at Glasgow International Artists' Bookfair asked me to participate in one of her projects called Workspace Wednesday.

Each Wednesday she asks a different artist to reveal a bit about their studio.

So see my version:

Schema install

Whilst others have been searching for Easter Eggs, I have spent the last couple of days installing my solo exhibition at Che Camille.

The work I am exhibiting is all new work made in 2010, and so I am particularly excited about showing it and gaining feedback.

The wonderful Gary Bolam (in charge of all things art at Che Camille) and my dear friend (and studio companion) Stephanie Spindler kindly helped me with the install.

Calling for volunteers for GIAB 2010

Harald Turek and I are currently busy organizing Glasgow International Artists’ Bookfair 2010, which will take place 16-17th April 2010 at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

GIAB is a showcase of artists’ books produced by local, UK-based and international artists.

GIAB will be open from 10am - 6pm on both days and entrance is free.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help us, both before the event (putting up posters/distributing flyers etc) and during the two days of the event.

Volunteers may be asked to assist on the information stand, selling catalogues and providing general assistance to members of the public. We also offer a table manning service to participating artists. This means that we organize for a volunteer to look after a table of artists’ books whilst the artist goes for lunch or has a look around at the other artists’ books.

We would really appreciate any help, even if you are only able to offer an hour of your time.

Please email us if you can be of assistance, and let us know when you will be able to help out.

glasgowartistsbookfair@googlemail.com

For more information about GIAB please visit www.giab.org.uk

It would be great if you pass the message on also, and we hope to see you there!
