Layering drawings and photos

I have been experimenting with layering some drawings over some photos:

Research trip

So, at the weekend I escaped from Glasgow and took a much needed trip to Manchester and then London.

I visited too many galleries to mention here, but a couple stood out:

- animalation at Manchester Art Gallery (wonderful animations featuring animals)
- The Drawing Factory at Madame Lillies

I also visited the Manchester Museum and the Natural History Museum and was inspired by patterns and organic forms, reminding me of my drawings

collograph plates

Next week i want to do some printmaking, and produce some more collograph prints.

I enjoy the tactile nature and textural qualities of collographs, and I want to explore line and colour in a series of prints.

Here are some of the plates have have made, prior to being varnished and printed.

Steph and Helen drawing experiment

Today Steph and I worked on our collaborative ideas, and decided to experiment with doing a drawing whereby we both added part to it and the other one responded.

Here is the result of our first experiment.

my new home- (studio 122)

My new studio in the Briggait is wonderful and makes me very happy.

Sharing the space with Stephanie Spindler (and her dog, Sparkles) is a joy.

The central heating is BLISS!
