New Year, New You: Mini Crits

I'm looking forward to taking part in the New Year: New You mini crits session that will take place in January next year at The NewBridge Project. Various members of The NewBridge Project will deliver 5 minute presentations relating to their artworks or research at any stage of development. The friendly audience will provide insight and offer guidance.

Helen's Artwork Sale (in aid of MFA tuition fees!)

It may not look like it, but recently I have been having a sort-out in my studio. As I prepare to move to Newcastle to embark on a Master of Fine Art postgraduate degree at Newcastle University, I am packing up the contents of my studio and trying to earn a few pennies to add to the tuition fee fund!I have been debating what to throw out, what to sell, what to keep, what to put in storage, what to take to Newcastle etc. As I am not a good decision-maker, and a bit of a hoarder, this task has been very difficult!

TODAY I will be selling my artwork at a discounted rate, and there will be a variety of art materials that are up for grabs (any donations welcomed!)

Some thoughts on future work

I'm working towards an exhibition I have lined up at the beginning of next year (official announcement to be made soon), and today met with one of the gallery committee to talk through ideas and get some technical advice.

It's all very exciting, and I have some ambitious plans, but the next step is to get some funding in order for me to be able to turn the ideas into reality.

Any private donations would be more than welcome!

The edge is important

Featured artwork in The List

The latest edition of The List magazine was posted through my door this morning. With excitement and anticipation I flicked through the Visual Art pages, and on page 121 saw the small feature on my artwork.



Unfortunately the image is dark, and the colours of the sculptures do not appear as vibrant as they are in real life. All the more reason to try to see the work first hand!

Here Gallery Bookshop

Above the Here Gallery is the Here Gallery Bookshop stocking a wide range of very inviting artist publications, prints, collages, magazines and other art objects.

Pop Up Print Shop (P.U.P.S)

I have some collograph prints for sale at the Pop Up Print Shop at 57 Byres Road, Glasgow.

I visited the shop today and enjoyed perusing through a wide range of Fine Art editioned prints by established and emerging artists including:
